Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a Service Center across multiple shifts, ensuring safe, efficient LTL freight movement and high customer satisfaction. You will oversee dock planning, scheduling, and staffing to drive performance and meet KPI targets.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and communications, with responsibilities for hiring, training, safety compliance, incident investigations and coordinating drivers and routes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of LTL service center operations is preferred.
• Strong computer skills including AS/400 and MS Office.
• Demonstrated leadership, hiring, coaching, and coaching abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct employees, set goals and monitor performance.
• Hire, train, and administer personnel actions per policy.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Manage operations in the absence of managers.
• Maintain safety policies and regulatory compliance.
• Meet KPI targets and ensure timely pickup/delivery.
• Coordinate drivers and routes for freight transport.
• Record transport details and conduct safety interviews.
• Conduct safety training after incidents and accidents.
