Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines seeks an Operations Manager for a busy Roanoke, VA Service Center. Lead 450+ staff across shifts, drive safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction while executing the Service Center plan with management.

Responsibilities include hiring and coaching, scheduling, KPI delivery and coordinating drivers. A strong leadership mindset, solid computer skills (AS/400, MS Office), and long-hours flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience preferred and strong leadership qualities.
• Knowledge of LTL service center operations is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Good computer skills including AS/400 and MS Office preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct employees across multiple shifts.
• Hire, train and coach staff; manage performance and development.
• Ensure safe, efficient LTL operations and KPI achievement.
• Coordinate drivers and routes; oversee dock planning and scheduling.
• Maintain customer satisfaction while controlling costs.
