Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Service Technician to join our culture of service excellence in Syracuse, NY. You will respond to service calls, support client programs, and assist with small projects, helping protect lives and assets with reliable security solutions.

Ideal candidates bring strong technical skills in fire alarm or electronic security systems, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Advanced technical skills related to fire alarm systems and electronic security systems.
• Advanced programming skills and troubleshooting ability.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude and use of hand/power tools.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple service needs.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to routine and some non-routine service calls, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint.
• Act as the customer's best service provider at all times and ensure Convergint is the first choice for service.
• Utilize troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
