First Merchants Corporation is seeking an SBL Closing Specialist III to manage all aspects of the SBA closing process from approval through funding. The role includes coaching staff, developing protocols, and ensuring compliance with SBA and internal bank requirements.

The position can be remote within our operational footprint and requires strong leadership, extensive closing experience, and proficiency with LaserPro and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business-related field.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated management, leadership and coaching skills.
• LaserPro experience required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the closing process from approval through funding.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff; act as lead trainer and protocol developer.
• Ensure compliance with SBA and internal bank requirements.
• Organize files and maintain thorough documentation.
• Coordinate with customers and third parties to gather and verify information.
• Prepare closing checklists based on loan approval and type.
