First Merchants Corporation is seeking an SBL Closing Specialist III to join our team. This role handles the entire closing process from approval to funding, maintaining complete SBA and internal bank files.

The position can be remote within our operational footprint and includes coaching and protocol development responsibilities. The role requires expertise in SBA SOP, bank loan closing processes, and strong regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• LaserPro experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability/collaboration skills.
• Excellent listening skills and coachability.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the closing process from approval through funding.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff; lead trainer and protocol developer as needed.
• Ensure compliance with SBA and internal bank requirements.
• Organize and manage files according to the file folder hierarchy.
• Communicate with customers and third parties to gather necessary information.
• Prepare the closing checklist based on loan approval and type.
• Order appraisals, environmental, and tax transcripts as required.
• Prepare loan closing documents in LaserPro.
