Job summary

First Merchants Corporation is seeking an SBL Closing Specialist III to join our team. This remote-eligible role manages the SBA loan closing process from approval through funding, while coaching staff and developing training protocols.

You will organize files, coordinate with customers and third parties, and prepare all closing documents in LaserPro to meet regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience, with LaserPro

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated management, leadership and coaching skills.
• LaserPro experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Strong Critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and multiloan management capability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the SBA loan closing process from approval to funding.
• Coach and mentor staff; serve as lead trainer and protocol developer as needed.
• Organize files in accordance with the file folder hierarchy.
• Coordinate with customers and third parties to gather information.
• Analyze files and prepare closing checklists based on loan approval and type.
• Review third-party reports and perform data searches to support loan presentations.
• Order appraisals, environmental, valuations, and title work.
• Prepare closing documents in LaserPro and ensure compliance with SBA requirements.
• Manage multiple loan submissions and priorities to meet deadlines.
• Maintain superior customer service and represent the Bank professionally.
