Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to lead technical pre-sales for enterprise customers. You will author production-ready POCs, integrate complex client stacks via REST APIs, and validate architecture with engineering peers. You will also help scale internal tooling and stay at the forefront of AI trends, including LLMs and autonomous workflows.

The role combines hands-on coding with customer enablement, requiring strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical field.
• 2–4 years in a technical client-facing role or as a hands-on Software Developer pivoting to a strategic role.
• Proficiency with modern programming languages and web tech (JavaScript, Python, Node.js) and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Strong interest in AI technologies, including prompt engineering, LLMs, and autonomous software workflows.
• Willingness to travel ~30% annually for on-site workshops and client validation sessions.

Responsibilities

• Develop Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) including demos and prototypes.
• Build and maintain API integrations to client tech stacks using REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud infra.
• Own technical validation with account teams, security questionnaires, and developer-to-developer reviews.
• Scale internal tooling with reusable code snippets and automation templates.
• Stay updated on AI tech trends, focusing on LLMs and autonomous agent frameworks.
