Job summary

Zendesk seeks a Senior Sales Engineer to join our engineering presales team. You will write code, configure API integrations, and build production-ready POCs that showcase Zendesk AI capabilities. This role blends hands-on engineering with customer-facing problem solving.

You’ll collaborate with accounts to validate architectures, create demos, and deliver customized solutions using modern web tech stacks, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years in a technical client-facing role or hands-on software development with a pivot to field roles.
• Proficient in modern programming languages and web tech (JavaScript, Python, Node.js).
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and API integrations.
• Strong interest in AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and autonomous software workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and tailored prototypes to demonstrate Zendesk platform and AI capabilities.
• Build and maintain API integrations connecting Zendesk to client tech stacks using REST APIs and modern cloud infra.
• Support technical validations, security/architecture questionnaires, and developer-to-developer reviews.
• Scale internal tooling with reusable code snippets, demo accelerators, and automation templates.
• Continuously learn cutting-edge AI trends and autonomous agent frameworks.
