Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our engineering presales team. You will write code, configure complex API integrations, and build production-ready POCs that showcase our AI capabilities and platform.

You’ll own technical validation, partner with account teams, and travel 20–30% for on-site workshops and client sessions. A CS-focused degree and 2–4 years in a technical client-facing role are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative technical discipline.
• 2–4 years in a technical client-facing role or hands-on software developer pivoting to a strategic field role.
• Experience with modern programming languages and web technologies (JavaScript, Python) and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Strong interest in AI technologies, including prompt engineering, LLMs, and autonomous software workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and tailored prototypes demonstrating Zendesk platform and AI capabilities.
• Build and maintain API integrations connecting Zendesk to client tech stacks via REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud infrastructure.
• Support technical validation with account teams through security questionnaires and developer-to-developer reviews.
• Scale internal tooling to accelerate field team delivery with reusable code and automation templates.
• Stay up-to-date with AI trends, including LLMs, prompt engineering, and autonomous agent frameworks.
