Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our specialized engineering presales team. You will write code, configure API integrations, and build production-ready POCs to demonstrate our AI-powered CX and ES platform.

You’ll own technical validation, develop scalable tooling, and stay at the forefront of AI trends, including LLMs and autonomous workflows. This hybrid US-based role requires travel and collaboration with customers globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience in a technical client-facing role or as a hands-on software developer transitioning to a field role.
• Proficiency with modern programming languages and web technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Python) and REST/SOAP APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop Proof-of-Concepts (POCs): deliver demos, technical sandboxes, and prototypes that showcase Zendesk’s platform and AI.
• Build and maintain API integrations: connect Zendesk to client tech stacks using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and cloud infra.
• Own technical validation: support deep-dive validations and security/architecture questionnaires with account teams.
• Scale internal tooling: create reusable code snippets, demo accelerators, and automation templates for field teams.
• Stay current on AI: advance skills in LLMs, prompt engineering, and autonomous agent frameworks.
