Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

You will champion safe work practices, enforce OSHA standards, and collaborate with the ESH Manager to investigate incidents, manage injuries, and deliver site-specific training.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with minimum 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety.
• OSHA 510 certification in Construction Standards.
• First Aid, CPR, AED certified within last 2 years.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction and STS certification completed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety standards and guide internal, external teams to predictable outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and Layton Construction policies.
• Assist ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitor workers’ compensation issues and report timely information.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations for project teams.
• Attend pre-construction meetings highlighting safety needs.
• Assist with injury management and ensure cost-effective medical care.
• Provide safety training to site personnel and participate in Safety Committee meetings.
