Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to continuous learning.

The Senior Safety Coordinator will assist the ESH Manager with investigations, safety orientations, training, and incident reporting, while promoting The Layton Way and Constructing with Integrity across projects.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 510 Certification in Construction Industry.
• OSHA 30-hour Training for Construction and STS certification.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (within last 2 years).
• Proven ability to investigate incidents and communicate findings clearly.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Champion Layton safety standards and ensure OSHA and company policies are followed on site.
• Assist ESH Manager with accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitor workers' compensation issues and report timely information.
• Conduct or assist with site-specific safety orientations and pre-construction meetings.
• Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors at the site level.
• Support compliance with FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation laws.
• Contribute to monthly Safety Committee meetings and safety program improvements.
