Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Responsibilities include monitoring safety conditions, assisting in incident investigations, coordinating site safety orientations, and delivering safety training to workers and subcontractors on Layton projects across Cedar Rapids.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with minimum 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Certificate in OSHA-related standards and safety training is required.
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED certifications within the last two years.
• OSHA 510 Construction Safety certification and STS certification required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Champions company values by delivering predictable safety outcomes for teams and customers.
• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton Construction policies.
• Assists ESH Manager in incident investigations and data collection.
• Tracks workers' compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Conducts site safety orientations and participates in pre-construction safety meetings.
• Provides safety training to employees and subcontractor personnel on site.
