Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role demands a strong foundation in construction safety, ongoing learning, and commitment to core ESH competencies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with minimum 3 years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Documented continuing education in construction safety.
• Must possess OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (within last 2 years).
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to perform duties safely with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety standards on Layton project sites to deliver predictable outcomes.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and Layton safety policies.
• Assist ESH Manager with accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitor workers’ compensation issues and report timely information.
• Conduct site safety orientations and participate in pre-construction safety meetings.
• Support injury management and coordinate with medical teams as needed.
• Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors at the site level.
• Participate in monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings.
