Job summary

The Senior Safety Coordinator at Layton Construction actively supports project teams to ensure the effective implementation of environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety practices and a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities include enforcing OSHA standards, investigating incidents with the ESH Manager, providing site safety orientations, training employees and subcontractor personnel, and supporting

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with 3+ years in construction safety.
• OSHA 510 construction safety certification required.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification within last 2 years.
• OSHA 30-hour training for construction and STS certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organized and reliable.
• Commitment to continuous learning and core ESH competencies.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety practices and ensures predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Enforces OSHA standards and Layton Construction policies on projects.
• Assists ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations for teams and subcontractors.
• Participates in pre-construction safety discussions and safety training.
• Supports injury management and provides protective medical care coordination.
• Conducts industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing as needed.
• Provides safety training and supports compliance with FMLA/ADA/Workers’ Compensation.
• Attends Safety Committee meetings and performs related duties.
