Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for advanced missile programs, based onsite in Tucson, AZ. You will drive RF sensor subsystem design, RF radar integration, and collaboration with suppliers to meet stringent requirements.

You will lead design modeling, analysis, and testing, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping innovative RF solutions for demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical hardware development (RF components such as antennas or CCAs) and subsystems.
• Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
• Demonstrated product or task ownership in RF programs.
• Experience interpreting engineering requirements and verifying hardware compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Serve as liaison between supplier and program to ensure technical, cost and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, proposed design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing, field tests, and root-cause failure analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts such as requirements documents, HUM, and SSOW.
• Travel to supplier sites for reviews and meetings (1–2 months cadence).
• Collaborate with program leadership, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
