Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for advanced missile technologies. The role focuses on RF subsystem design, radar development, and antenna integration, with leadership across supplier teams and program stakeholders.

This onsite position requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility, DoD-related experience, and a track record of engineering excellence. The team emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and rigorous design verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with electrical hardware development (RF components such as antennas or CCAs).
• Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
• Demonstrated product or task ownership.
• Experience interpreting engineering requirements and verifying hardware compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Liaise between supplier and program to ensure technical, cost, and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, proposed design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify, document, and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing, field test events, and root-cause failure analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts such as requirements documents, HUM, and SSOW.
• Process variances for hardware noncompliance and deviations from the TDP.
• Travel regularly to the supplier (once every 1–2 months).
• Collaborate with program leadership, functional management, suppliers, and customers.
• Build cross-functional networks to solve complex technical challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
