Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority to lead RF subsystem design and supplier coordination for advanced missile programs. The role focuses on defining requirements, performing design analysis, and supporting integration and testing in a demanding RF environment.

The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ, with relocation eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years,

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with electrical hardware development (RF components such as antennas or CCAs and subsystems preferred).
• Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Serve as a liaison between the supplier and program, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, proposed design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify, document, and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing, field test events, and root-cause failure analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts such as requirements documents, Hardware Utilization Matrix (HUM), and SSOW.
• Process variances for hardware noncompliance and/or deviations from the Technical Data Package (TDP).
• Travel regularly to the supplier (every 1–2 months).
• Collaborate with program leadership, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
