Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority for advanced missile programs, based onsite in Tucson, AZ. The role requires leadership in RF subsystem design, radar development, and RF seeker integration, with responsibility for drive of subsystem requirements and test support.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with suppliers and program teams, and travel to supplier sites periodically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years experience, or an advanced degree with 6+ years experience.
• Experience with electrical hardware development (RF components such as antennas or CCAs) preferred.
• Experience with working with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
• Experience with product or task ownership and interpreting engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Serve as liaison between supplier and program for technical, cost, and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab and field testing, root‑cause analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts like requirements documents, HUM, and SSOW.
• Process variances for hardware noncompliance and deviations from the TDP.
• Travel to supplier locations once every 1–2 months for reviews.
• Collaborate with program leadership, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
