Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project/Construction Manager to lead maritime and port projects in the Gulf Coast region, primarily supporting Montgomery or Mobile, AL offices.

Role requires overseeing design and construction, coordinating with clients, design firms, and contractors, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will develop execution plans, lead kickoff meetings, monitor progress, and manage field operations across rail, dredging, and terminal upgrade activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Construction Management/Architecture/Engineering or related field.
• 11+ years of relevant construction project management experience on large-scale port and maritime projects.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and other relevant certifications preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and comply with safety/regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the Owner’s Representative with design firms, contractors, and vendors through all project phases.
• Develops a Project Execution Plan (PEP) and staffing requirements to complete projects.
• Conducts kickoff meetings and ensures quality control reviews are documented.
• Maintains daily field contact and coordinates with rail operators and safety protocols.
• Monitors progress and prepares monthly project reviews and status reports.
