Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project/Construction Manager to support its Maritime and Port service line in the Gulf Coast Region.

The role focuses on leadership and oversight of all design and construction activities for port and rail projects, with primary support in Montgomery or Mobile, AL and regional travel or remote work as needed. Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in terminal expansion, dredging, wharf upgrades, and related utilities, and possess strong project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of construction project management experience on large-scale port and maritime projects.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and related certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution as Owner's representative with design firms, contractors and consultants.
• Develop and manage Project Execution Plans, schedules, staffing and budgets.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings and ensure quality control documentation.
• Monitor progress, prepare monthly reviews and progress reports for clients and leadership.
• Coordinate with rail operators and ensure compliance with rail safety and right-of-way access.
