Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a SQL Server-backed web application. The role is fully remote within the United States, with focus on MVC/Web API/Web Forms, SSIS, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs.

You will optimize data models, review code, and work with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with government IT needs.

Qualifications

• ;Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• ;Strong C# and ASP.NET experience;
• ;Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• ;Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• ;Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
• ;SQL Server Agent job management.
• ;Familiarity with IIS administration.
• ;Git-based development workflow.
• ;Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications with front-end/back-end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases, including T-SQL.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across UI, app, and database/server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, system admins, and security teams.
