Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a .NET web application backed by SQL Server, SSIS, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs. This is a fully remote role within the United States.

You will work across the full stack, optimize databases, tune performance, and ensure secure coding practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams and staying current with .NET developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of related experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication, and IIS administration.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms applications and ensure seamless front-end/back-end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases—queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages and manage SQL Server Agent jobs.
• Design and optimize relational databases (SQL Server) and write efficient T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across UI, application, database, and server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams to design features and fix issues.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to secure coding practices.
• Write clean, well-documented code following .NET standards.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem.
