Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities include maintaining and improving ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms applications, supporting SQL Server databases, updating SSIS packages, and managing Agent jobs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years experience
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience
• Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication
• SQL Server Agent job management
• Familiarity with IIS administration
• Git-based development workflow
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms apps
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning
• Update and deploy SSIS packages
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures
• Design and query relational databases with T-SQL
• Configure AD authentication and IIS settings
• Troubleshoot full stack from UI to DB and server
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Maintain documentation and secure coding practices
• Write clean, documented code following .NET standards
• Optimize data models and database architectures
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices
• Stay current with .NET updates
