Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, and AD integration for a Microsoft stack web app. The role is fully remote within the United States.

The successful candidate will design, code, test, and optimize across the full stack, collaborating with DBAs, system admins, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or commensurate experience.
• 12+ years of experience or equivalent professional background.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications with front-end/back-end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases with T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot issues across UI, database, and server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams to design features.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, well-documented code following .NET standards.
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold .NET best practices.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem improvements.
