Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a SQL Server-backed web application. This fully remote role within the United States requires strong T‑SQL, SSIS, AD integration, and security-minded coding practices.

The candidate will design, optimize, and troubleshoot across the app stack, collaborating with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams, and contributing to code quality and CI/CD efforts via Git-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or commensurate experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software development or equivalent.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET skills and design experience.
• Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration and Git-based development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases; write T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across the full stack from UI to database/server.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams to design features.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code following .NET standards.
• Optimize data models and database architectures.
