Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a SQL Server backend-driven application. The role emphasizes full-stack troubleshooting, SSIS integration, AD authentication, and secure coding practices.

Fully remote within the United States. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of relevant experience, strong C# / ASP.NET skills, and a track record of optimizing SQL Server environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end components
• Update and deploy SSIS packages
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server), including writing efficient T-SQL, stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and debug issues across the full application stack, from the UI down to the database and server layers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including database administrators, system administrators, and security teams to design new features and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following .NET coding standards and object-oriented design principles
• Optimize data models and database architectures to enhance performance and scalability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to overall code quality and adherence to .NET best practices
• Stay current with updates to the .NET framework and the broader Microsoft development ecosystem, recommending improvements where relevant
