Job summary

EPS, a leader in electrical testing and engineering, seeks a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control testing, troubleshooting, and project execution for substation and industrial systems. You will drive safety, mentor junior staff, and interface with clients to ensure reliable, compliant operations.

The role requires hands-on relay testing expertise, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex field projects with safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Background check clearance.
• Ability to work overtime and travel.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience with protective relays in substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies on job sites.
• Analyze protection schemes and perform relay panel testing.
• Execute end-to-end testing using relay test equipment and software.
• Read and validate protection schematics and configurations.
• Calibrate and ensure performance of protective relays.
• Develop project execution plans and outage sequences.
• Coordinate resources and field activities for large projects.
• Prepare and finalize test reports, as-built drawings, and commissioning docs.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers and interface with customers.
