Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced estimator to lead reinforcing-steel takeoffs, cost development, and preconstruction coordination on projects conducted remotely. The role requires deep knowledge of detailing and estimation for large-scale concrete builds and a track record of driving accurate bid prices.

The candidate should have substantial reinforcing-steel experience, strong reading of structural drawings, and proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and RebarCAD, plus related software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Ability to review structural drawings and specify labor/material pricing.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project conditions.
• Review plans and specs for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Identify project risks and potential cost exposures before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management in establishing final bid strategy and selling price.
• Coordinate pricing with material/fabrication subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
