B&B Concrete is seeking a highly experienced reinforcing-steel estimator with strong skills in estimating, detailing, and project coordination. The role focuses on takeoffs, pricing, and developing standards for the company’s estimating and detailing processes.

Ideal candidates bring substantial industry experience, experience with large concrete projects, and the ability to lead a growing estimating/detailing department while coordinating with management and field teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of reinforcing-steel industry experience; heavy emphasis on estimating and detailing.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel and reviewing placing drawings.
• Ability to review structural drawings, develop labor and material pricing, and identify constructability issues.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD, aSa, Tekla, SDS/2 or comparable software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns; identify risks and bid strategy.
• Coordinate with project management and field personnel to resolve detailing/constructability issues.
• Lead standard estimating procedures and develop databases for historical costs.
