Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior Reinforcing-steel Estimator/Detailer to join our remote team. You will review structural drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, develop material and labor pricing, and help establish estimating standards for our projects.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years of reinforcing-steel experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD) and the ability to coordinate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on Reinforcing-steel experience.
• Ability to review structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop labor and material pricing.
• Experience with large concrete projects.
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD/MicroStation).

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion, splice requirements and other reinforcing needs.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Identify risks and bid-exposure before submission.
• Prepare conceptual to final estimates and assist bid strategy.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
