Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors seeks an experienced estimator specialized in reinforcing steel to drive bid quality and project cost control. The role requires independent review of structural drawings, takeoffs, and the development of reliable labor and material pricing for complex concrete-heavy projects.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with reinforcing-steel fabrication, detailing, and coordinating with structural teams.

Qualifications

• Review structural drawings and specifications for detailing and takeoffs.
• Develop labor and material pricing based on project conditions and historical data.
• Establish standardized estimating procedures and templates.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
• Coordinate reinforcing steel with structural, architectural and MEP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates and support bid strategy.
• Coordinate RFIs and revisions with project teams.
• Lead the transition from estimating to project management.
