B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking an experienced reinforcing-steel estimator and detailing professional to serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations. The role focuses on establishing standards, cost databases, and preconstruction processes for major concrete projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry or similar
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects
• Ability to review structural drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of detailing requirements and constructability
• Experience with fabrication and field placement processes
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Responsabilités

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment costs
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion, and splice requirements
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability issues
• Identify risks and cost exposures before bid submission
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates
• Assist in establishing bid strategy and selling price
• Solicit and evaluate supplier pricing and subcontracts
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions
• Coordinate with management on preconstruction and strategy
• Lead department development and standardization efforts
