Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors seeks a veteran Estimator/Detailer for reinforcing steel to support estimating, project management and operations. You will review drawings, develop labor and material pricing, and help establish our estimating standards and preconstruction processes.

The ideal candidate has hands-on reinforcing-steel experience, with ability to review structural drawings, perform takeoffs, and provide reliable cost estimates with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry or closely related field.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel and reviewing placing drawings.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of ACI/CRSI practices and fabrication/field placement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, and labor cost estimates.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Identify constructability issues and bid risks early.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates and support bid strategy.
• Coordinate RFIs and revisions with project teams; mentor junior staff.
• Review shop/placing drawings and ensure accuracy and constructability.
