Job summary
B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a seasoned Estimator/Preconstruction specialist to join our remote, full-time team. You will serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management and operations, shaping standards for reinforcing-steel cost, production rates, and historical cost databases.
The ideal candidate has deep hands-on reinforcing-steel experience and can review structural drawings, develop labor and material pricing, identify constructability issues, and provide reliable
Qualifications
- 7+ years reinforcing-steel industry experience or 10+ years preferred.
- Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel.
- Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
- Experience with large concrete-intensive projects.
- Strong reading of structural drawings and specs.
- Familiarity with fabrication and field placement.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
- Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment and other costs.
- Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
- Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
- Mentor analysts and develop estimating templates and databases.
- Lead standardizing estimating procedures and software selection.
- Coordinate RFIs and revisions with project teams.
