Job summary

B&B Concrete seeks an experienced Rebar Estimator to join our remote‑friendly estimating team. This role goes beyond takeoffs; you will act as a technical resource for estimating, detailing review, and preconstruction processes across projects.

You will review structural drawings, develop labor and material pricing, establish production‑rate benchmarks, and mentor junior estimators. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in reinforcing steel and strong knowledge of detailing software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing‑steel industry with heavy experience in estimating.
• Ability to review structural drawings and determine detailing requirements.
• Experience with large concrete projects and substantial tonnage.
• Proficient in reinforcing‑steel fabrication and field placement concepts.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior estimators and detailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing‑steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, labor and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion and constructability issues.
• Review plans for scope gaps and cost exposures before bids.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
• Lead in establishing standardized estimating procedures.
