B&B Concrete is seeking a senior professional to serve as a remote-capable Rebar Estimator/Detailer. You will act as a technical resource for estimating, project management and operations, helping establish estimating standards, production rates and cost databases.

The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on reinforcement industry experience, with the ability to review structural drawings, perform takeoffs, develop labor and material pricing, and identify constructability issues to deliver

Competenze

• Substantial reinforcing‑steel industry experience required; able to review drawings and specifications.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Ability to develop labor and material pricing and constructability insights.
• Strong reading of structural drawings and detailing requirements.
• Knowledge of fabrication and field placement practices.
• Familiarity with ACI and CRSI guidelines.
• Proficiency with estimating/detailing software is preferred.

Mansioni

• Perform complete reinforcing‑steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion, splices, dowels and embedding details.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability issues.
• Identify risks and cost exposures before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and selling price.
• Coordinate pricing with material, fabrication, freight and subs.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
• Review detailing drawings for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate RFIs and revisions throughout project lifecycle.
• Work with management and field to resolve detailing issues.
• Participate in project turnover and preconstruction activities.
• Develop historical cost information for future estimates.
• Establish performance benchmarks and department standards.
• Lead a scalable estimating/detailing function over time.
