Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior professional to serve as a Rebar Estimator/Detailer in a remote-capable role. You will be the technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations, helping to establish standards, cost databases, and preconstruction processes.

The role requires 7+ years in reinforcing steel, expertise with major software tools, and the ability to develop accurate takeoffs and detailed drawings while collaborating with management and field teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years reinforcing-steel industry experience or equivalent
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large commercial/industrial projects
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel and reviewing placing drawings
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specifications
• Understanding of reinforcing-steel fabrication and field placement
• Working knowledge of ACI and CRSI requirements
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD, aSa, Tekla, SDS/2 or comparable software

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment, and costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability issues.
• Identify risks and potential cost exposures before bids.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and selling price.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from materials, fabrication, and subcontractors.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
• Review detailing requirements and coordinate with structural/MEP teams.
• Coordinate RFIs and revisions with project teams.
• Support project managers with change-order pricing and cost analysis.
