Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a seasoned Estimator to lead reinforcing-steel takeoffs, pricing, and detailing for diverse projects. You will review drawings, develop labor and material costs, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

Remote work supported with periodic site visits as needed. The role emphasizes establishing estimating standards, building historical cost data, and aiding preconstruction with risk analysis.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing.
• Ability to read structural drawings and specifications with constructability focus.
• Experience with large commercial/industrial projects and substantial tonnage.
• Proven capability to develop labor and material pricing and bid strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, and equipment.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist in bid strategy and pricing decisions.
• Coordinate with procurement for pricing of materials and subs.
• Mentor junior estimators and improve estimating templates.
