Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior reinforcing-steel estimator and lead detailer to join our remote team. You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, price labor and material, and help establish estimating standards across preconstruction, estimating, and operations.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years in reinforcing steel, experience with large concrete projects, and proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD, or Tekla.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience in reinforcing-steel industry.
• Ability to review structural drawings and specifications for detailing requirements.
• Experience with large concrete projects and substantial reinforcing-steel tonnage.
• Proficiency with estimating, detailing, and cost analysis.
• Experience using common reinforcing-steel software tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, labor, equipment, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate with project management and field personnel to resolve issues.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
• Maintain documentation and assumptions for bids.
• Support change-order pricing and cost analysis.
