Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a remote-based senior estimator specializing in reinforcing steel. The role combines estimating, detailing, and project management to support bids and preconstruction for large concrete projects.

You will establish estimating standards, production-rate databases, and cost histories while mentoring junior staff and interfacing with management. Remote work with periodic site/travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years reinforcing-steel industry experience (or 10+ preferred).
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel and detailing.
• Strong reading of structural drawings and specs (ACI/CRSI desirable).
• Experience with large concrete projects (industrial/infra).
• Familiarity with estimation/ detailing software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions for projects.
• Coordinate with project teams to address scope and constructability.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates and bid strategies.
• Mentor junior estimators and develop department standards.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
