Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Rebar Estimator to lead estimating, detailing, and preconstruction efforts. You will review structural drawings, perform takeoffs, and develop labor and material pricing for complex projects.

The role combines estimating with project coordination and operations input. The ideal candidate has substantial reinforcing-steel hands-on experience, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD or similar software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing steel industry, 10+ years preferred.
• Ability to independently review structural drawings and perform takeoffs.
• Experience with large concrete projects; strong reading of drawings and specs.
• Experience with RFIs, detailing coordination and constructability issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other project costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project-conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns; identify cost exposures.
• Coordinate with project management and field personnel to resolve detailing issues.
