Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior professional to lead reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing efforts. The role combines bid estimating, preconstruction analysis, and collaboration with project management to control cost and schedule risks.

The ideal candidate will review structural drawings, determine tonnage and labor, and establish production-rate benchmarks while guiding junior staff and integrating standard estimating processes across projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry or related field with experience estimating.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Ability to read structural drawings and specifications with constructability insight.
• Experience with large concrete/industrial projects and cost analysis.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns; manage risk.
• Prepare conceptual to final estimates and support bid strategy.
• Coordinate pricing with material/fabrication vendors and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior estimators and advance department capabilities.
