Job summary

TYLin is exploring Senior Track and Civil Engineer opportunities in the Pacific Northwest for an experienced rail professional. The role focuses on leading track and civil design across major rail and transit projects, collaborating with signaling, traction power, and civil teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in rail track and civil engineering, a PE license (or reciprocity), and strong leadership/communication skills to mentor junior staff and support proposals and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive rail track and civil engineering experience.
• PE license in at least one U.S. state or ability to licensure via reciprocity.
• Strong knowledge of track geometry, horizontal/vertical alignment, corridor design, and rail infrastructure integration.
• Experience with Pacific Northwest agencies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for track and civil design on major rail and transit projects.
• Lead development of track alignments, turnouts, crossovers, and layouts for stations, corridors, yards, and maintenance facilities.
• Develop, review, and oversee engineering plans, specifications, analyses, calculations, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with signaling, traction power, OCS, communications, civil, structural, geotechnical, and other disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development activities.
