Job summary

TYLin is actively seeking a Senior Track and Civil Engineer to join our Rail + Transit team in the Pacific Northwest. With 8–12 years of experience, you will lead track and civil design across complex transportation projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction support.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, you will collaborate with clients, transit agencies, railroads, and stakeholders, driving safe, constructible designs and schedule adherence while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive rail track and civil engineering experience.
• PE license in at least one U.S. state or eligibility.
• Experience with rail types and yards (light/heavy/commuter/intercity).
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenRail/OpenRoads, InRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior resource for track and civil design on major rail projects.
• Lead development of track alignments, turnouts, crossovers, and layouts for stations, corridors, yards, and maintenance facilities.
• Develop, review, and oversee plans, specifications, design criteria, calculations, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with signaling, traction power, OCS, communications, civil, structural, geotechnical and other disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development activities.
