Job summary

RTX is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to design ruggedized structures, interconnects, and packaging for phase array radars and related electronics. You will own the design throughout the life cycle, from proposal through production, ensuring conformance to standards, and guiding a small team as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• Experience in radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

• Utilize mechanical hardware design experience with ruggedized structures, interconnects, electromechanical development, cooling, or array integration of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs.
• Develop technical solutions across the product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple programs.
• Lead design release into production and ensure conformance to standards and requirements while removing roadblocks.
• Provide technical conscience to meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals for the finished product.
• Work with minimal direction, with latitude to determine technical objectives and priorities.
• Lead a small team of mechanical engineers when required.
