The Senior Relay Technician leads protection and control testing, troubleshooting, and project execution for substations and industrial systems, while mentoring field teams and interfacing with customers.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, advanced testing, and delivering accurate documentation, with opportunities for professional growth and certification

Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Background check required.
  • Willing to travel and work overtime.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Hands-on experience installing, testing, and repairing protective relays.
  • Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
  • Analyze protection schemes for power systems.
  • Install, commission, test substation control circuits and relay panels.
  • Perform end-to-end and functional testing with relay test equipment.
  • Read and validate protection schematics and relay configurations.
  • Develop project execution, commissioning procedures, and outage sequences.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, relay settings verification, and documentation.
  • Mentor junior technicians and interface with customers.
