Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to serve as technical lead for protection and control systems. You will oversee advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution at substations and C&I facilities across North America.

Role requires deep analysis of protection schemes, coordination of field teams, and strong customer interaction to ensure safe, reliable operation and on-time project delivery. NETA-accredited background preferred.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen due to safety-sensitive role.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Willing to travel and work overtime; valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, & repairing protective relays in substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes and perform installation, commissioning, testing of substation control circuits.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of protection, control, and communication systems.
• Develop project execution plans, commissioning procedures, outage sequences, and energization plans.
• Develop and finalize comprehensive reports, relay settings verification, and commissioning documentation.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers and stakeholders.
