Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited independent electrical testing and engineering organization providing protection and control services for data centers, utilities, and industrial facilities across North America. The Senior Relay Technician leads protection testing, commissioning, and field execution with a focus on safety, reliability, and customer interaction.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
  • Ability to read and interpret protection and control schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong project leadership and field-team coordination skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies across field activities.
  • Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and system components.
  • Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of substation relays and panels.
  • Execute advanced end-to-end and functional testing with relay test equipment/software.
  • Interface with customers and project stakeholders to communicate status and resolve issues.
