Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to serve as the technical reference for project documents, questions on drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. The role supports supervision/training of Field Engineers and coordinates with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on schedule.

The Senior step applies for experienced professionals on larger or more complex projects, with emphasis on procurement, budgeting, and risk

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and codes.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training with 3–4 years of experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan and change management process for successful execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with project CPM schedule; coordinate submittals.
• Understand prime contract, subcontracts, PO agreements, and budgeting to control costs.
• Maintain as-built contract documents and close-out requirements such as manuals and warranties.
• Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete and utilities.
• Plan, acquire, develop and supervise project team members to ensure execution.
• Prepare quantity reporting, meetings minutes, and project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders and log; distribute docs to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims; quantify and resolve effects timely.
